Skullgirls publishing partners Autumn Games and Konami are no longer partners, according to a company update from Lab Games’ (a Skullgirls developer) Peter Bartholomew.

Pick A Partner

Bartholomew went on to mention that patch testing was “nearly complete,” but that doesn’t mean they’ll get pushed out anytime soon. The company must get paperwork taken care of and pushed out to a new publisher, and since the Xbox 360 and PS3 operate so differently, there will be two different publishers. Autumn Games will publish the PlayStation Network version and Autumn will partner with MarvelousAQL for the Xbox Live version.

Bartholomew ended his post by saying,

It’s worth noting that the PC version on Steam is not affected by this delay.

Takeaway

Skullgirls is an anime-style 2D fighter that has a wide fan following, despite being mostly panned by critics. Still, the game is very popular and the patch was anticipated. It sounds like the patch is still incoming, it could just still be a very long time until it actually hits your console.
