Meaning, I’ll have several pieces in here by the same Sims 4 custom content creator. There are plenty of insanely talented Simmers in the community, okay? It’s hard picking just one thing to recommend when some creators have been releasing winning content for almost a decade. So if you see the same name pop up several times, just roll with it. I promise, all the hairs in this list deserve the mention!
1. Male Hair G58 by Daisy-Sims
Check Out This CC As a big fan of Daisy-Sims’ work, it was tough recommending just a few pieces from their extensive wardrobe. I had to include this one, though. This half-ponytail for Male frames is smooth, stylish, and looks like it’d be worn by the bad-boy heartthrob in some Eastern drama. Style with care!
2. Hugo Hair by Anto
Check Out This CC When you search for custom male hair recommendations for the Sims 4, Anto’s Hugo hairstyle is one of the first – and most prevalent – results. What can I say? It’s a versatile and deceptively simple cut that’s almost unfairly attractive. Plus, I’m of the opinion that slicked-back hair with a light fade will never not look hot.
3. Low Perm by MoooD
Check Out This CC MoooD’s Low Perm hair is actually one of my favorite Alpha CC hairstyles. I used it once and would one hundred percent use it again. At the risk of directly quoting that tiny child from Despicable Me, it’s so fluffy! Every part of the hairdo, from the bangs to the wispy ends, has a gentle curl to it. It adds this hint of volume that makes for a very soft-looking silhouette.
4. Poison Hair (Ver. 1) by MoooD
Check Out This CC This first version of MoooD’s Poison cut is a clean and simple style that, despite the name, feels very “boy next door”. Maybe it’s the baby curls and the sweetheart middle part. Maybe it’s the imperfect hairline and the feathery strands. Whatever it is, this haircut looks like it belongs exclusively on the heads of bright, happy, and inherently good Sims only.
5. Michael Hair by Anto
Check Out This CC Dreadlocks, cornrows, and face-framing braids? Anto knows the way to my heart, and it’s through effortlessly cool cuts like Michael. This is the kind of style that suits likeable, level-headed leaders of post-apocalyptic fantasy rebel groups. It’s also base game-compatible and comes in so many colors!
6. Buffalo Hair by MoooD
Check Out This CC I promise, there are plenty of other Alpha CC creators on this list. I just have a lot of love for MoooD’s library. And with absolute gems like Buffalo, can you blame me? This cut makes Male Sims look unflappable and expensive. Any Sim sporting this hairstyle knows how to wield their looks like a deadly weapon. They’re probably filthy rich, too.
7. Maz Hair by Reina Sims4
Check Out This CC Here’s a variation of the half-ponytail for males that’s less “bad-boy heartthrob” and more “teen who couldn’t bother to get a haircut.” It’s messy, uneven, and the ponytail is undoubtedly hastily done. But for some reason, it’s this unkempt, ruffled nature seems to be what makes the hair so visually charming.
8. Closure Hair (Males) by SonyaSimsCC
Check Out This CC SonyaSimsCC’s Closure hair is my recommendation for Simmers who prefer longer cuts with plenty of color options. This ‘do is lengthy, luscious, and perfect for framing sharp cheekbones and strong jaws.
9. Male Hair G38 by Daisy-Sims
Check Out This CC This hairdo has a very relaxed and reassured sort of vibe. Like a dependable wash n’ wear t-shirt. Your Sim just has to roll out of bed, finger-comb the unruliness into something societally acceptable, and they’re good to go! I’m sure a lot more care goes into hairdos like this, but it’s the low-maintenance appeal that makes Male Hair G38 is an excellent pick for casual, every day looks.
10. Sex Pistols Hairstyle by Obsidian Sims
Check Out This CC Short, spiky, and lightly windswept, Obsidian Sims’ Sex Pistols haircut channels healthy doses of boyish charm. The feathered edges make it look super soft and touchable while the neatly-trimmed layers balance it out. Plus the cropped, no-nonsense length makes it look respectable rather than juvenile.
11. OE0818 Hair by WingsSims
Check Out This CC If you’re a fan of softened locks and wispy hairstyles, here’s a fluffy li’l number from WingsSims. Their OE0818’s cut looks so light and incredibly downy, I’d be inclined to describe it as almost angelic. The swoopy bangs and delicate swept strands really sell this cut for me, and I hope they have the same effect on you!
12. Greezy Dreads by Ebonix
Check Out This CC In the category of edgier, more complex ‘dos, Ebonix’s Greezy Dreads is a sight to behold! They’re long, textured, and hypnotizing from all angles. If your Sim’s got the bone structure for it, try this cornrows-and-dreads combo out on them. The results may delight.
13. OS1114 Hair by WingsSims
Check Out This CC More edgy hairdos coming your way. This is another masterpiece from WingsSims that features a faded undercut and some pretty intricate braiding. The cut as a whole is neatly wrapped up in a stylish topknot and some stray, wispy bangs. It’s got that street-smart punk vibe going for it, which I will begrudgingly admit makes it ten times cooler.
14. Nightingale TS3 to TS4 by Kijiko
Check Out This CC I feel like Kijiko’s custom pieces that aren’t their 2D lashes are often overlooked. Thankfully, I managed to find one of their pretty hairstyles. This medium-length ‘do with a fairly low manbun has plenty of errant strands for texture. Not super unique, but not too conventional, either!
15. Switch by KIMSimjo
Check Out This CC This Switch style has a soft, sweetheart feel to it, but don’t let the Sims in the preview photos fool you! This cut looks great even on non-baby-faced Sims. Tried it for myself with some of my Young Adult characters and I’m happy to report the wholesome, juvenile flavor this hair adds doesn’t detract from your Sim’s facial features.
16. Male Hair G88 by Daisy-Sims
Check Out This CC As you can probably see from the preview photos, Daisy-Sims’ Male Hair G88 is a clean, distinguished cut. It’s got wisps of face-framing bangs and some stray strands softening the edges. It makes the overall hairdo look gracefully and easily styled. It’s even got some ombre color options if you want to spice things up a bit.
17. Dylan Hair by S-Club
Check Out This CC S-Club’s Dylan is making the comb-backed, side-swept, hairsprayed look absolutely work. If you prefer chill, uneventful hairdos that need only minimal prep and maintenance, this probably has a touch too many particulars for your taste. But if you like your Sims looking sharp and photoshoot-ready 24/7, this is an absolute gem of a find.
18. Barom Hair by magpiesan
Check Out This CC Puffy, poufy, and as feathery as a cloud, magpiesan’s Barom Hair looks super soft and super fluffy. No joke; the cotton candy visuals are strong with this one. Especially with the lighter pastel color options! I love how they styled the bangs, too. They just frame the eyes so well.
19. Yaba Hair by OJE
Check Out This CC If you’re building a quiet, wholesome, boy-next-door-type Sim who can totally rock natural makeup and sweater paws, OJE’s Yaba hair is exactly the hairstyle they need. It’s clean, shiny, and completely untouched by chemical products. It also comes in 28 natural color swatches, so you can totally push the “inherently cute” narrative with it.
20. Craig Hair by Anto
Check Out This CC Anto’s Craig hair is wild, kinked, and completely natural. It’s not as tightly wound as a Jheri curl ‘do, but it’s definitely got curls. That length with that texture works really well. And despite its frizzy, untamable silhouette, this cut is actually quite versatile! It looks good with a wide range of bone structures and facial features.
21. Ace by Nightcrawler Sims
Check Out This CC Like WingsSims’ OS1114 hair, Nightcrawler Sims’ Ace cut is a masterpiece of a topknot blended with a clean, artsy fade. There’s no intricate braiding with this, but the stray, wispy bangs and street-smart punk vibe are still wholly present.
22. Sunrise Hair by Nilyn
Check Out This CC There’s windswept, there’s side-swept, and then there’s Nilyn’s Sunrise Hair-swept. Okay, it’s not that extreme. But the orientation of the hair’s bangs really just jumps out at you. Once the initial impression dies down, then you can get around to appreciating the other elements of this cut that make it look so touchable and oh-so gently styled.
23. Stardust by Obsidian Sims
Check Out This CC If this custom hairstyle isn’t based on an anime or video game character, it ought to be! All the elements are there; the spikiness, the odd choice of silhouette, and the insane amount of (hypothetical) product it would take to make this ‘do feasible. I’ve listed a fair amount of casual and realistic hairstyles thus far, so I figure another crazy cut like this won’t hurt.
24. Seahorse Hair by MoooD
Check Out This CC As a self-proclaimed Stray Kids fan (a current K-pop group), this hair reminds me of Lee Felix’s iconic mullet. It’s pretty, wavy, and has some of the most elegantly coiffured bangs I’ve ever seen. Seriously recommend it if you’re planning to do a Sims lookalike. Or if you’re creating a princely fantasy character. Trust me; it’s pretty much the same concept.
25. Red Light Hair by Nilyn
Check Out This CC This haircut is sort of a sharper, choppier version of MoooD’s Seahorse. It’s a fairly lengthy mullet as well with plenty of body and bouffant styled bangs. It’s just a little shorter, a little shaggier, and not as wispy-soft. I will say that, given how brilliantly vibrant this hair’s red swatch is, its name is incredibly fitting.
26. Male & Female Hair G7 by Daisy-Sims
Check Out This CC I know this is technically for Male and Female frames. But like I said in the beginning of this article, Daisy-Sims’ catalog is extensive. And it’s got a lot of stunning, drop-dead gorgeous pieces. Picking even just five items was a challenge. This low man-bun with the wispy face-framing strands up front and the slightly messy stray hair tufts at the back? I am weak for it. I just had to include it!
27. Cornerstone Hair by SonyaSimsCC
Check Out This CC This custom haircut gives off solid dependable vibes. I don’t know what it is about it, but I feel like the Sim who sports this ‘do is practical, sensible, and one of the most reliable beings in town. Maybe it’s because of how neatly trimmed everything looks. Or how the entire cut is just generally well-groomed. Doesn’t help that Sim modeling the hair is almost criminally attractive, too!
